Guests can feel the magic of the Atlantic in every corner of ROBINSON CABO VERDE. In this interview, Club Director Peggy Gau reveals why a long-distance trip to Cape Verde promises singles and couples a time-out in a class of its own.

Hey Peggy, a club that integrates the ocean so harmoniously into its design probably attaches great importance to protecting the environment, right?

Indeed we do. We are constantly working on our sustainability efforts. Our drinking water is produced with a desalination plant, we water our gardens with treated waste water and solar panels provide hot water. But there are also small things, such as black tiles in the pool, which additionally heat our heated pools in a natural way.

You don’t just go with the flow architecturally, but also in terms of sport. Where do your guests prefer to let off steam?

Most people look for sports close to the water. They either ride the waves while kitesurfing, wingfoiling and surfing or dive one level deeper. But even with other sports activities, such as yoga on the beach or cycling and group fitness, your gaze almost always wanders over to the turquoise blue horizon, making even the most demanding programs easier to master.

There always seems to be something going on at your place. How do your guests relax after events like the Gardenfest or Africa of Colors?

Even though our events can be colorful and a little louder, they still spread a relaxed atmosphere. The motto of our island is “No Stress” and we live by it. However, if you want to lose track of time completely, take a dip in the salt pan of the disused salt trade or watch the natural spectacle when the deep shaft of the “Buracona Olho Azul” shines turquoise blue onto the rocks. The only time things are even quieter is during the treatments at our WellFit-Spa or the “Yoga Verde Week”.
