Hi Lea. You made Thailand unsafe from the ROBINSON KHAO LAK. What immediately fascinated you?

Without a doubt: the beach! The vastness, the light, the tranquillity – almost like a painting. And if you stroll through the club, you’ll find little green oases everywhere. That’s where the discovery began for me.

But you were also drawn out of the club. What did you experience?

Exploring the surrounding area is a real experience. I drove through small villages, past palm groves and hidden beaches. Stopping spontaneously in between to discover a temple or eat in a food stall where only locals sit. This is what the real Thailand feels like.

Phang Nga Bay

Between emerald green water and bizarre rock formations, you can canoe through quiet caves and spectacular karst landscapes.

But the highlight awaits on land: the reclining Buddha in Wat Suwan Khuha. Hidden in a stalactite cave, it radiates a calm that stays with you for a long time – even after the tour.

Bang Niang Market

The Bang Niang Market is not a staged spectacle, but a part of everyday life.

People cook, haggle and smile here. Between plastic stools and tropical fruit, you’ll find authentic moments and the perfect souvenir.

Khao Sok National Park

A day in Khao Sok National Park is like a trip to another Thailand: dense rainforest, crystal-clear lakes, swaying bamboo rafts.

If you’re lucky, you might encounter monkeys, rare birds or even the legendary Rafflesia flower along the way. And in between? Just drift along.

Similan Islands

By boat from island to island, with the wind in your face and a snorkel in your pocket: the Similan Islands are like a large outdoor aquarium.

What impressions still stay with you today?

The sunsets have literally burned themselves into my memory – different every day and always spectacular.

What really touched me was the Thai welcome. The “Wai”, this simple, sincere gesture in which the palms of the hands are placed together in front of the chest. A small ritual that immediately creates a bond.
